How we deliver

Book a longer appointment. Preparing a plan takes more time than a standard consultation.

Your plan. Where appropriate, your GP prepares a Mental Health Treatment Plan or an Eating Disorder Plan with you.

Psychology. With a plan in place, you can be referred for subsidised sessionsour psychologists consult on site.

Our doctors are independent practitioners and set their own fees. Reception can advise the fee policy of the doctor you are seeing, but cannot confirm the exact amount before your visit — your doctor selects the Medicare item number on the day, based on the length and complexity of the consultation. Mental Health Treatment Plans and reviews have their own Medicare item numbers. Your GP will explain what applies and confirm your eligibility. Psychology sessions accessed under a plan are subsidised for eligible patients; the psychologist’s own fee may still apply. Mental health consultations are exempt from some Medicare telehealth restrictions, so a rebate may be available without a recent in-person visit. Fees are payable on the day by EFTPOS or credit card. We can transmit your Medicare claim electronically so your rebate is returned the same day.

What are your opening hours?
8:30am–4:30pm Monday to Friday, closed public holidays. After hours: Radiodoctor Illawarra 4228 5522 (bulk-billed home visit or telephone), or the Urgent Primary Care Centre at Bulli Hospital 4249 1300.
I need a quick appointment, can you fit me in?
A small number of same-day appointments are set aside — ring reception on 4202 6900. Sick children and pregnant women are prioritised.
What are the best parking options?
Public car parks on Railway Pde, on Station St over the railway bridge, and the large public car park on Church St.
How are fees set?
The doctors are independent practitioners who set their own fees; reception can advise each doctor's fee policy before your visit.
How many psychology sessions do I get?
Eligible patients with a Mental Health Treatment Plan can access a Medicare-subsidised number of sessions per calendar year. Your GP will explain what applies to you.
Do I need a plan before seeing a psychologist?
Not necessarily — you can see a psychologist privately. A plan is what makes sessions Medicare-subsidised for eligible patients.
Is it confidential?
Yes. What you discuss with your GP is confidential, subject to the usual legal obligations, which your doctor can explain.
What if I need help urgently?

What is a mental health treatment plan?
A plan your GP prepares that sets out your goals and treatment, and can give you access to Medicare-subsidised sessions with a psychologist or other mental health professional.
Am I eligible for a plan?
Your GP will assess this with you during a longer appointment.
How do I prepare for the appointment?
You don't need to prepare anything. Book a longer appointment so there's time to talk without rushing.
Is what I say confidential?
Yes — your consultation is confidential, in line with our privacy policy.
Can I do this by telehealth?
Yes — phone and video appointments are available, which some people find easier for these conversations.
Do you help with eating disorders?
Yes — eating disorder plans and reviews are available.
Can I see the same GP for reviews?
Yes, and we'd encourage it — continuity makes a real difference in mental health care.
