| \n\n \n \n\n \n MEDICARE\nIn order to receive a Medicare rebate for video or phone consultations, patient must have visited the Doctor in person in the preceding 12 months. \nExemptions include patients in isolation due to covid, children aged under 12 months, homeless people, mental health, sexual health, and reproductive health related consultations. \nRecent changes to Medicare \nMedicare no longer funds telephone consultations that are over 19 minutes in length. Please book a video consultation to ensure you receive a Medicare rebate for your 20 min appointment. \nOverseas Students UOW \nPeople who do not have access to Medicare are welcome to attend. Fees must be paid upfront to the doctor on the day, and you can claim back from your insurer. \n\n\n\n \n CONSULTATION FEES\nFrom November 1st our fees will increase. This change ensures we can continue to provide high quality accessible care to all of our patients. \nPlease note, our reception team cannot advise the exact fee you will be charged at the time of booking. The below fees and rebates are a guide only. \nYour Doctor will determine the Medicare item number to be charged on the day of your appointment based on the length and complexity of your consultation. Our Doctors will do their best to minimise out-of-pocket fees where possible. \nFees must be paid on the day of service and can be paid by EFTPOS or by credit card. We can transmit your claim electronically to Medicare for you to receive your rebate on the same day. Medicare rebates are time based. Children 5 and under will be Bulk Billed \nDiscounted Fee = This fee is charged at the Doctor's discretion for children 6 and over and Health Care /Pension Card holders. Payment can be done over the phone or via the HotDoc payment request. \nAll private consultations will incur a payment processing fee, which will be included at the time of payment, in accordance with the payment platform's processing fees. \nNon-Attendance Fees \nSituations arise leading to missed appointments, but we kindly request that you inform reception staff of any changes prior to the commencement of the appointment. \nThe first missed appointment will incur a written warning. Further missed appointments will incur a 'no-show' fee of $50. Exceptions may apply. \nFurther appointments will temporarily be unavailable until this fee is paid in full. Please discuss with your doctor. \nBulk Billings is available for Childhood vaccinations, Flu vaccines/Covid vaccines, Care plans and Health assessments. People with Valid healthcare cards or pension cards may be bulk billed. \n\n\n\n \n PATIENTS WITH MEDICARE\nTelehealth Consults (Phone and Video) \nMedicare rebates are available for over-the-phone consults and Video consults for existing patients that have attended the clinic in-person within the last 12 months. \nExemptions include patients in isolation due to covid, children aged under 12 months, homeless people, mental health, sexual health, and reproductive health related consultations. \nOutside of these conditions a Medicare rebate is not claimable, and the practice fee will be fully out-of-pocket. \nAdditionally, phone consults over 19 minutes long are only claimable for a Medicare rebate if a patient is signed up with MyMedicare within the practice. For more information visit (health.gov.au/mymedicare). \n\n\n\n \n MYMEDICARE\nMyMedicare is a voluntary program, in addition to Medicare, to promote patient-practitioner continuity. As a MyMedicare patient, your nominated GP will be able to provide additional funded services such as longer phone consults covered by a Medicare rebate. \nTo register with MyMedicare, you must have had 2 face-to-face consults with the GP at our practice in the last 2 years. Exemptions apply to those experiencing domestic and family violence and homelessness. \nYou can register via your Medicare App, otherwise contact our reception and we can help set up MyMedicare on our behalf. If you are signing up yourself, please notify us. \n\n\n\n \n ONLINE PAYMENTS FOR TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENTS AND OVERDUE INVOICES\nOnline payments through HotDoc is used for Video and over-the-phone consults. \nPrior to the consult, HotDoc will send a request for payment details. No fees are taken at this time, other than a temporary $1 transaction to verify the stored card's details. At the conclusion of the appointment, you will be notified if there is a fee and prompted to pay online. \nPlease note that the fee shown at the time of booking is only an estimate. \nRegardless of whether you have been bulk-billed for telehealth consults previously, you will still be asked to provide a payment method. You may still be bulk-billed – at the discretion of the Doctor. \nIf you are unable to provide payment information to HotDoc, please contact the practice to arrange an alternative payment method. \n\n\n\n \n PATIENTS WITHOUT MEDICARE - INCLUDING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS\nPeople who do not have access to Medicare are welcome to attend.
